Principal Responsibilities
|
· Understand technology roadmaps and standards.
· Partner with architecture teams and application owners to develop solution designs
· Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends in the area of system engineering
· Drive to deliver technology and products in the roadmap, on schedule and with the highest quality
· Provide advice, guidance and direction to carry out plans and procedures, ensuring schedule attainment, product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met

· Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations and ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems
· Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements, engineering designs and estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives
· Quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
· Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work. Must be able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; and foster the development of high performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization.
Data Systems:
· The hands-on ability to engineer solutions in the following areas:
- Database high availability solutions including Windows clustering, and scale out architectures (desired)
- Common database designs including OLTP, Reporting, and OLAP
- Big data processing and analytic technologies including: Hadoop, R, and stream processing
- Standard and ad hoc reporting solutions
- ETL and MDM data management tools
- Dashboard and visualization technologies
- Structured and unstructured search technologies
Network (desired):
Collaboration:
· Advanced level technical skills in various editions of Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server operating systems (e.g. 2008 R2, 2012) and an in depth understanding of scripting installation and configuration changes using PowerShell. Proven experience in managing, securing and migrating Exchange environments.
· Preferred knowledge in the following areas: SharePoint infrastructure and solution design leveraging SharePoint designer workflows and CSOM, Office 365 (Exchange Online, Exchange Hybrid and SharePoint Online), network management concepts, Active Directory Design and Implementation, IaaM concepts eg. Federated Identities, SAML Claims, etc.
· Ability to troubleshoot, research, and resolve complex enterprise server software and hardware problems; Performance tuning to support the infrastructure integration with hosted applications
Automation (desired)
Compute Services:
· Experience in Systems and Application design and engineering with three (3) years in IT architecture and / or IT R&D
· Minimum three years of experience in managing and supporting in large scale engineering and operational roles
· Understanding and experience in development and troubleshooting various technologies including Cloud and Systems automation, enterprise network communications/protocols, Windows and Linux authentication and authorization, Virtualization technologies (VMWare), enterprise networking, and encryption standards technologies. Expertise in Platform and Infrastructure as a service elements
· Strong understanding of Networking
